Body After Baby Challenge

For those visiting from Mama Notes, WELCOME!

I so very badly want to loose this baby weight and so I'm joining the BAB Challenge.  I'm sad that Matthias is almost 4 months old and I still weigh 45 pounds more than I want to weigh.  Before I got pregnant with Matty I was a size 12 to 14 and somewhere between 150-160 pounds. I'd like to get back there and lower.  I'd really like to weigh about 145 pounds.  I felt healthiest when I was there.

When Jason and I got married I was about 125 lbs.  I was "sickly" and "bone-y" according to my husband.  I put on a lot of weight with each baby but have always lost it fairly easily without a lot of effort on my part.  I walk (or did) a lot.  I love walking, but with 6 children it is getting more difficult.  I'm going to have to make something else work.

This is an 8 week challenge.

  • By the end of January I would like to be 10 pounds less than I am now.  That will get me well on my way, I think.

  • Each week, I'd like to walk 3-5 times a week.  My plan is to walk with the children to get the mail and back.  It's not really far but we can add to the length by going a different route home depending on weather, temperature and behavior.

  • I will use the 2 exercise machines we have at least 3-5 times a week.  We have an Ab King Pro and some other rowing thing.

  • I have a water goal too - I want to up my intake.  My hubby says I should drink half my weight in ounces each day.  With that calculation I need to drink 3L of water a day.  I know I'm not there.

Once we get the Wii (Christmas gift), I'll add some goals concerning that.

So that is my overall goals.  This week is crazy for me and since we are supposed to post on Tuesdays, this week is almost over!  I need some goals for the next couple of days.

  1. Water intake - act when my reminders go off!
  2. Inventory meals in the freezer to help with menu plan.
  3. Walk on Monday and Tuesday.
  4. Use machines on Saturday AM.

I have so many other little things that I want to add too, but I know I will get overwhelmed if I add anymore.

Striving to learn and live God's purposes,

Good for you. I should probably outline my goals more concretely. Maybe for tomorrow's post...
