We have been so sick this week. I haven't dealt with this much puke in a one week period than when I was pregnant with Matty. That winter Jason started working for the safety company and was gone a lot. I remember having 5 kids sleeping on the living room floor puking in rotation of some sort. This week was a little better than that, but I still have a tonne of laundry! I'm so glad that Jason has taken over doing most of the laundry. He washes and hangs and I fold and put away. There is a pile at both ends of that process.
We got dumped on - snow snow and more snow. And more coming. A couple of the kids got to ride with the neighbor who came by and pushed out our yard. I am so thankful for the help. I can't imagine having to shovel us a path! Usually we just drive and pack it down but too much came at once this time!
Wyatt turned four on Saturday. He is so excited. This morning he woke up and as he came down the stairs he asked, "Mommy, am I still four?" So far he has gotten a Lightening McQueen puzzle and calendar and stickers. This boy loves the Cars movie. We plan to pick him up a dump truck (Tonka) to go with the Tonka loader he got for Christmas. We'll have to get more sand for his sandbox this spring.
I had really wanted to get going on "sit-down" school this week, but with everyone being as sick as we were, I'm impressed with what we did get done. Each of the older girls did a few pages of math and the younger kids touched on the letter H again. Although I don't feel H is covered I'm going to move on to J this coming week. (We did the letter I earlier when we did all the vowels together at the beginning of the year.)
Also on the homeschool front, I have taken on an extra student. Twice a week, we have a 12 year old boy join us to do his math. I am excited about this opportunity and so are the kids. Almost every day I get asked if "S" is coming. The work is not hard, it is just a matter of keeping him focused, answering his questions, checking his work. He takes it to the public school teacher who grades it; it comes back to us for corrections.
We got a Wii for Christmas. We have been having so much fun with it. And since Christmas Day, I have used the Wii Fit Plus every day, except 2, so far - Boxing Day and today. And it's early; I may get to it yet. Besides the Fit Plus, we got Sports and Sports Resort. I have not been able to get Sports to work; the console won't read the disc or something. I still need to contact Nintendo and see what to do about it. The games allow for 4 people to play in a lot of cases, but we've found a way to settle disputes where Rayna is concerned. If we give Rayna one of the remotes that is not needed she thinks she is playing and the game can go on uninterrupted.
My study of Sabbath continues; I am reading a book from the Ancient Practices Series called Sabbath
Striving to learn and live God's purposes,
