My Toe and Other Randomness

Remember my sore toe post?  Well, I never realized how often my children or the puppy step on or bang into my feet!  I have taken to wearing my steel toed, winter work boots in the house!

Usually I wear runners, but I think my runners may be causing my ingrown toe nail issue.  At the very least, the runners are not helping.  I am thinking that maybe they are too narrow at the toe.  I will be keeping that in mind when I get a new pair.  My work boots are very roomy and my toe is very safe under the steel.

Marrissa has learned to build walls with the large Lego.  She learned to not join the seams and her wall is no very strong!  She is so excited.

Matty has been enjoying a very little bit of table food.  I’ve just been feeding him a bit of soup from my plate, a crust of bread in the exersaucer or a bit of oatmeal and milk.  He likes food!  But sometimes only Momma’s milk will do.

We’ve gotten our schedule shifted.  Not sure if I’ve recently mentioned this.  I was getting really good at getting up at 6:30AM.  The kids were getting up around 8 and we were able to start school very close to 9AM.  Now I find myself turning off the alarm AFTER hitting snooze multiple times.  I wake in a panic at 8 trying to figure out a way to get everything done that I want done before the kids wake.  However, because they are getting up later, I need to loose  the panic and just carry on with the day.  The only days this doesn’t work are Sunday, Monday and Thursday.  So, when is bedtime, you ask?  The kids are sleeping between 10 and 11.  That is pushing my bedtime to after midnight and close to 1AM.  Maybe this is normal???

Wyatt tried going without a diaper at night.  That lasted 2 nights.  He does not like to wake wet.  However, he is 100% day-trained.  That achievement happened sometime in the month or so before his 4th birthday.  The one thing that is driving me crazy though is he poops in his diaper almost every evening before he goes to sleep!  He does not like to go in the toilet.

Well, that’s a brief update on our family.

Ok, this is going to sound weird and gross but it works for ingrown toenails. Cut the nail just short enough that it is out of the flesh (or you may not need to.) Take a bit of wool or cotton yarn (I wouldn't do acrylic, just natural fibers). Slide the yarn under the nail (almost like flossing teeth) and then leave the yarn there. Cut the long ends of the yarn off and just let it stay there. This raises up the nail enough so that it can grow over the flesh it was growing into.

Hubby did this for a toenail - he thought I was crazy for suggesting it but since I had yarn, it was a free experiment. He was then astonished that it worked.

Anyway, thought I would pass this tip on.
