Our men have a special balance that they have to keep and it is not an easy thing for them. Work versus family. Family time versus providing for that family. I do not envy my dh's position. I am so thankful that he is able to find this balance or recognize when it is not there and he rectifies it.
Striving to learn and live God's purposes,

We've been thinking a lot about this lately, and how since the industrial revolution, men are not as involved as they "should" be in regular home life. Before the industrial revolution, men were farmers or tradesman, working from home, they were home for close to every meal, they were available at any time to make decisions for the family. The boys were able to follow dad and learn so much even in childhood...this is what we are striving to get back to...living simply, with BOTH parents available to do the parenting...we believe this is YHVH's will for us. We suck at being employed, it feels too much like bondage, a type of "Egypt" I suppose. LOL, self employment is the next best thing, but self-sustenance is the goal!
I agree LaDonna!! I just feel so blessed that I also have a man who is very good at this balance!! I have so many friends who have husbands who want nothing to do with the parenting and find this so very sad :(
