Marathons

I love running when I was in high school.  I would run just because; I’d walk every morning in the warmer weather.  I was in track and field events every year.  My  husband doesn’t understand running, if no one is chasing you.

My girls have been asking daily for a number of days now if they can run in the Fallen Four Marathon.  Today I did a little research.  There is a children’s run and a family run.  The cost is minimal and you get a t-shirt out of the deal.

I told Kristyn she’d have to train.  So I had her run two – three blocks.  I said if you can run to the police park and back without stopping, I think you’d be able to do the marathon.  She ran to the park, took a short break and ran back.  She did a total of 4 “lengths” if you will (there and back twice).  The second time, Cora went with her.  I was impressed.

So, we’ll talk with the daddy about it when he gets home.  I would love to get back into running; I never ran any marathons when I was younger and more fit, but it’s something that I’ve been thinking about more and more in the last few years.

Of course, that would mean not getting pregnant again right away.

What a sight that would be!!!

Do they let pregnant women run marathons??

I'm pretty sure they don't. BUT, I'm sure they encourage pregnant moms to cheer from the sidelines!

Bravo to the kiddos, but I'm with your husband on the running. lol

I'm not pregnant currently. If I don't run this year, I could be for next year and then I couldn't run. :(

And DH could very well kibosh it this year; we'll see. We'll work on him for next year though.
