The following books have my children excited about the new school year:
![]() | Usborne Internet-Linked First Encyclopedia of History (First Encyclopedias) This one has been opened the least at this point. |
![]() | Human Body (Internet-linked Library of Science) This one will go along nicely with our Human Body study we started a couple of weeks ago. (We need to get back to it; the girls were loving it.) |
![]() | Usborne The Children's Book of Art: Internet Linked I feel this is one area that has been slack in our book selections and such. Kristyn is very interested in art and I wanted to get a book a little closer to her level than some of the others I have brought into the house. I hope she enjoys it. |
![]() | Usborne 100 Science Experiments (100 Science Experiments Il) Another area that has been lacking – science. Well, only lacking in a formal sense. They do science stuff all the time, but will little or no instruction. This book has been the most looked at since it arrived. I can hardly keep it away from them. But why would I? I told them we’d try to do one a week. |
and last but not least, is a book that I bought mostly for my education and as a way to further instruct my children. I am so excited to dig into it.
![]() | A Family Guide to the Biblical Holidays This is something that I’ve been studying a lot in the last 6 months or so. It started with the weekly sabbath and snowballed into something so much more and so much deeper! |
We started in the last three weeks to do more sit-down stuff and Wyatt is begging for a math book. I am so thankful for my friend Gabby, who sent some homeschool things they are done with to me. In there was a preschool 0r pre-K math and a language arts or something. Wyatt is over half done the math book I think.
I think it’s going to be a great year!
Now, on to enjoy summer. We set up the pool yesterday. I just wish the mosquitoes weren’t out in such a force. I remember why I hide out in the house for a lot of the summer. I guess it’s time to cover up, spray on some chemical and get out there, hey?
Striving to learn and live God's purposes,
