Multiply on the Fly written by Suzanne Slade and illustrated by Erin E. Hunter.
About the book: From pirate bugs to spittlebugs to lovely Luna moths, children will love learning about the world’s insects in Multiply on the Fly! Following in the footsteps of What’s New at the Zoo? and What’s the Difference, this rhythmic book teaches multiplication in a way that will make children “bug” you for more. Teeming with fun facts, readers will multiply a variety of insects, including daring dragonflies, hungry honeybees, and stealthy walking sticks. The “For Creative Minds” section in the back of the book keeps the fun rolling with facts about the insect life cycle, matching insect activities, and multiplication guides to make anyone a multiplication master. (age 4-8)
My Review: I have a little girl, my Cora, who loves bugs. She is just starting to learn about about multiplication. This book is perfect for her. And I know that once she gets it, she just might be able to teach Kristyn and Marrissa all about it. I love the bright colors and the rhyming word problems. What a great teaching tool. I have yet to check out the teaching material on the website, but if what I’ve seen from Sylvan Dell Publishing in the past is any indication, there are good things in store for my little students!
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
Striving to learn and live God's purposes,
