And I am also pleased to be . . .

his rib. From Buildeth Her House:

A rib is vital in holding up a man. We are his support to his very being. A man with a Godly wife walks taller and is proud to be the head that God assigned him. But when it is broken, his rib can cause him great pain. Hindering his progress in life. A man can't work and provide efficiently, when he has lost full support of his rib. We are extensions of our husbands.

In all honesty, I haven't been the rib my dh has needed in these last few months, but especially in the last couple of weeks. I am so thankful for J's understanding, direction and kindness in communicating to me his needs, and what my role needs to be in our relationship. I get sidetracked so easily. He gently yet firmly guides me back. And I am happier for it. Both J and I have been struggling with depression and lack of motivation and . . . (the list goes on). We hit a bit of a turnaround this week. As a result, my house is cleaner, there are more smiles on more faces, and J is doing some general maintenance around our home. We're back! Look out world, there is a united front in the Harris house.
