Color Coding In An Effort To Organize Chaos

I have been feeling very disorganized and disoriented again. I guess it's the change of seasons and the starting to school and finding a new routine. I think it's to do with leaps and bounds of learning in all the kids. I think it's because I'm trying to find a balance between homeschooling, blogging, reviewing, reading, J's mixed up schedule, the new people J and I are becoming, the issues at our church, meeting new people and where they fit in our lives.

So one thing I am going to do is color code our family.

K = red
C = pink
M = yellow (orange, if yellow is unavailable)
W = green
R = purple
J = blue

I don't have a color for me yet because the only colors left in my package of pens were black and light blue and those are boring.

Where do I plan to use these colors? Activities on the calendar, tooth brushes, towels, socks. Anything that's personal use. Notebooks, stickers, name tags. I'm even thinking about printer paper for homeschooling stuff - K's stuff on red paper, etc.

Here are some links that I looked at when I was "researching" this tool / tip / technique:

I'm going to add our color codes to my gift list for future reference. I hope it works for us. It might take a little work to find items in the specific colors but we'll make it work and with the internet shopping for specifics is so much easier.

Striving to learn and live God's purposes,

I should blog about this, its worked for me for years. With two more kids I may need to revamp it, but I'm always going to be purple! yay! Sometimes it has to do with what is available. If I forget the color for the kid or they have 2 colors the other kids will tell me who's it is. We also put initials on things, so you don't have to use only colors. Good luck!
