The Simple Woman’s Daybook – May 25

FOR TODAY – May 25, 2010
I am thinking...about my homeschooler facilitator's visit.  These visits are always good.  The children love to share what they’ve learned and I start to make (or share plans already made) plans for next year.
I am thankful for...the freedom I have in my homeschooling.  I love that we can live life and learn in that manner.  We don’t have regular school time and I’m okay with that.  I’m hoping that by mid-October we are settled into a more “regular” routine.
From the kitchen...I am loving the fact that I have my under the counter cd player / radio.  Having that makes doing dishes and spending time there a lot easier.
I am creating...a list (in my mind so far) of things that need to be done, washed and collected for the coming baby.
I am going...to start planning for June.  June is looking busy already; I think I will need to plan some “at home” days, so that I get time to refresh between activities.  So far we have a couple of dance performances, a wedding campout, a birthday party (M turns 5), a wedding and the garden needs to be planted.
I am reading...(or attempting to) The Magician’s Book by Laura Miller.  I am finding this book rather difficult; the main reason for this difficulty is that my vocabulary is not at the same level as this book.  I do not understand a lot of the words and so I don’t think I am getting a lot of her meaning.  I feel stretched and am therefore taking my time.  And yet that is frustrating because there are so many other books that I want to get to reading as well.
I am hoping...for warm days this week.  I don’t want it too hot, but the last few days have been cooler than I like too.  I’m picky.  I’m pregnant so I’m allowed.
I am hearing...silence.  It is nice enough for my children to be outside playing.
Around the house...things are shaping up for the new baby coming by the end of the summer.  I got a dresser moved up; now I can start filling it.  I know it’s still three months away but it’s fun and I like to be ready.
One of my favourite things...my Flylady calendar.  I use this calendar daily and in conjunction with a weekly planner and my Google calendar.
A few plans for the rest of the week: dentist appointments for the big girls on Wednesday and staying as close to home as possible this week.
