Well, I am going to attempt this planning thing this week. Let’s see how it goes.
Here is a reminder of my supper theme ideas:
- Monday – pork
- Tuesday – ground meat (beef or moose)
- Wednesday – breakfast for supper
- Thursday – chicken; such as nuggets and fries or chicken fingers, or a crock pot chicken meal
- Friday – beef; such as roast, steak, stew meat
- Saturday – outdoor cooking; such as burgers, hot dogs, grilling
- Sunday – fish
Here’s the plan for this week:
Monday – I have some pork loin that I pulled out. I’ll probably serve it with rice and carrots.
Tuesday – I think I will make mashed potatoes and individual meat loaves.
Wednesday – I’m not sure why, but my kids have been asking for pancakes over and over and over again. So I will probably serve pancakes with bacon and eggs (dh isn’t a fan of pancakes).
Thursday – breaded chicken pieces with fries; perfect! We will have a sitter on Thursday as DH and I will be helping with some wedding preparations with friends.
Friday – I am needed away most of the day for decorating and meal preparation for the wedding. I think ideally I’d love to have a roast in the crock pot for this evening; I’ll even add the potatoes too.
Saturday – The children will eat with Tammy-Lee. I don’t have a plan yet because I don’t know where the children will be – here or at Tammy-Lee’s.
Sunday – I would love to put some fish on the BBQ with lemons and garlic!

So, it's Tuesday...how's the plan working out?
Well, Lily, we had pork loin for supper last night. Tonight, I had planned meatloaves. But, being that we have birthday girl and guests coming after supper, dh suggested that we do something easier and have meat loaves tomorrow. So he's picking up supper at the store when he picks up the cake.
Tomorrow is supposed to be pancakes. So we'll either do pancakes or something with the burger I brought out for tonight.
Plan is working so far.
Oh that is good!! I used to be organized like that. I wrote out plans made up from the sale flyers, then went shopping. Each night I just made what was planned. It was blissfully simple and worked wonderfully. I wonder why I ever got away from something so sensible! Love your blog!
