One Year To An Organized Financial Life – taking a break, skipping July, moving August up.

Have you ever had a chapter or a book or a topic that you know is important but you just can’t “get it”?  You just can’t find the interest that is needed?  I just cannot get into investing and retirement savings.  I will not be doing this chapter justice.  The information is there; and the information is good.  But. . . it’s me!  Seriously.  I just don’t get it and I’m not going to torture myself.  One day, I will come back to this chapter and say, WHY DIDN’T YOU READ THIS SOONER!?!?!??!”  But for now, I’m moving on.

See you in July.

Oh, I just looked forward to July.  Long-Range Financial Plans, including investing and wills.

August is baby month around here, but the material in the book (decluttering and downsizing) is where I’m at right now.  I think I may skip July in the book, and move right to August.  Because our baby is arriving mid-August the couple months following will be focused on the baby.  My blog, and therefore, this ongoing review, will be pushed to the wayside.

For what it's worth - it looks like a good book.

I'm a pretty new follower - have you done reviews on previous chapters?

As far as retirement planning - it always seems so far off. Hubby and I are both public servants - so we have pension plans we pay into - but also try to optimize our RRSPs when we can. In our early 30s that's as far as we've gotten on retirement planning.

Not a sexy topic - but important. Sigh.

I've been by your blog a few times now - but I think this is my first comment. I'm enjoying it :)

Thanks for your comment! I have done the other chapters up to now. If you search for 1YR2Fin on my blog, you will find a list of the rest of them. I am truly enjoying the book. This topic just stops me up, every time. We have even taken Dave Ramsey's FPU and when we get to this subject, I just don't get it either. I'll get there.
