It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

213

On my last IMWAYR post, a commenter took note that I read a lot of NON-FICTION.  It was kinda a wake up call for me.  I think I’m in information overload.  So I am trying to have at least one FICTION book on my list each week.  I just recently finished Francine Rivers’ book An Echo in the Darkness.  I gobbled it up, couldn’t put it down.  This week I decided to pull a book off my shelf (one I need to review) and get into that.  I am about halfway through the fourth book of the Green Stone of Healing series – Outcast.  I have loved this series from about halfway through the first book.  I do not usually read this genre and the content was a stretch for me at first.  Now, however, I am looking forward to reading more!  I need to go check if she is releasing a fifth book or not.

Also, I’ve read a few more pages of Fascinating Womanhood and Bringing Up Boys.  These are great books and what’s funny is that I’m gleaning very similar information from BOTH!  I couldn’t believe it last night when the chapter I was reading in Bringing Up Boys (Fathers and Sons) was telling me very similar information as Helen Andelin’s book!  I love how information is often re-enforced for me!  The stuff is really going to stick.  I’m looking forward to the next chapter in Bringing Up Boys called Mothers and Sons.  I hope I learn how to deal with this rambunctious boy I have.

I finished August’s chapters in One Year to an Organized Financial Life and posted about it earlier this week.  I will be taking a break from this book now until September when I will probably post about the whole month in a single post again.  September will have us settling in with our new baby so I imagine you will see very little of me (and most posts will be scheduled posts).

At some point last week I did read more of The Birth Book.  I need to read more of this coming this week.  I can tell my body is getting ready for this baby to come.  Everything has a slight ache to it as my body stretches and loosens for birth.  I need to continue to get mentally and domestically (I think that’s the word I’m looking for) prepared for this baby.  I have a few items to purchase and collect this week and get everything washed and put aside.  My hubby doesn’t think baby is going to come early, and I’m not sure s/he will either, but I gotta be prepared, just in case.

I spent a lot of time this week (last couple of days mostly) on planning our homeschooling.  So I was reading websites and blogs on the way others plan and then of course reading the workbooks and teacher’s manuals for the curriculum we’ve chosen to use.  Stay tuned (if you like) for a post on my homeschooling plan (more in depth than just the schedule I posted last week.)

have a great week reading!!!

Well, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying some fiction these days. : )

I only have 3 chapters left in Bringing Up Boys. Okay, I'm setting a goal right now: to finish it before next Monday!

P.S. I look forward to reading your homeschooling plan.
