I was really blogging a lot in the last couple of weeks, but now I seem to have a bug that has me with no desire to sit at the computer. I think I might be moving into a nesting stage. Today I decluttered over 100 items from our home. But part of that means I’m so tired in the evening that I am not getting much done but a bunch of reading. So it’s been a great blogging break of sorts.
What I’ve been reading:
I finished An Echo in the Darkness. I couldn’t put it down. I haven’t lost sleep over a book since I read Talmadge’s first three books – The Green Stone of Healing series. (I have book four waiting for me to get to it.)
I am considering The Big Breakfast Diet completed. I did not read the whole thing, but I read to what was useful to me and I needed to return the book to the library. When I have this baby and am looking to lose weight, I’ll get it from the library again and read the rest of it.
The Birth Book is so good, but I think it needs to be updated; the copy I’m reading says it was published in 1994. Things in the world have changed since it was written. However, I love reading this book at the end of my pregnancies. The content helps to prepare my mind for the labor and delivery. I am on chapter 4 right now.
I’ve read to the end of August in One Year To An Organized Financial Life but have yet to review the month’s content. (Another project that has fallen by the wayside, however I am actively involved in carrying out the content.)
There have been many books on marriage and being a helper for my husband that I’ve read in my short (10 years) married life. Currently I am really enjoying Fascinating Womanhood. I’m reading about how important a man’s pride is to him and how we as women need to feed that; feeding their egos is so beneficial to me as J’s wife. He treats me better when I treat him better. I am on page 157.
Lastly on my reading list is Bringing Up Boys. I am on page 70. There is a lot of good information. I am not only learning about my son, but about my husband and other men / boys as well!
I think I may have to add another book to my list – a novel I think.
Striving to learn and live God's purposes,
