Saturday 9: The Sun Rising
1. When was the last time that you watched a sunrise? Who were you with? I can’t actually see the sunrise from my bed, but I can see a reflection of it. I love to wake early and watch my world get brighter while everyone else sleeps. Now, I guess I could say I was alone, but sleeping all around me are my dh and two of our children.
2. If President Obama promised he'd do one thing you asked, what would you ask him to do? I’d ask him to step down and appoint someone of my choosing to the presidency. I don’t know who that would be and I don’t want to think about it tonight. I’m tired.
3. What is one experience that has strengthened your character the most so far? I’ve had a number of character strengthening experiences. A lot of readers know the one that has affected me the most, so I’ll share a different one. Becoming a wife and mother is character building in so many ways.
4. What is the first thing that you usually do after completing Saturday 9? After posting Saturday 9, I usually check to see if there are any other posts I want to work on; sometimes I’ll check Facebook and email.
5. Tell us about someone either in your life or in the blogosphere that you think is extremely funny. My hubby is funny. When we first met I would laugh so much that my tummy hurt. I went through a time when I didn’t think he was funny at all, but now, he’s re-found his humor, or I’ve re-found my love for his humor. Not sure which, but it’s a good thing.
6. Where was the last bed that you slept in that was not your own? I slept in a tent in early July. I wouldn’t consider that my own bed.
7. Have you ever been too drunk to remember anything? Never.
8. Have you ever licked something to clean it? All the time.
9. Who, outside of family or a S/O, has influenced your life the most? That’s a tough question. I would have to say that my high school English teacher had a really big impact on my life. He was coarse and mean, until you got to know him. I am thankful that I was also in his homeroom class and got to know him a little differently than most of the students. Although we had a rough start to our friendship, by the time I graduated, I was really glad that he had influenced my life. There were little things from the classes he taught me – English, French, Home Economics (or some sort of cooking class). And there were bigger things like being concerned about my health, and my relationships with fellow students. He cared to push me beyond my lazy attempts at writing and my poor / lazy book choices.
Striving to learn and live God's purposes,
