My friend, Christi, is thinking about fall. Her children start school on August 9th! I can’t believe they start so early, but then again, I try to school year round here, so that is weird to a lot of people too. In her thinking and planning, she is downsizing the amount of clothing their children have. I am about to add our sixth child. We don’t need more laundry. Seriously. So I went to check out her list. You can see (and print it) here.
I have modified her list because we don’t go to public / private school, we don’t have uniforms and have to deal with much much cooler weather. Here’s my list:
- underwear for a week (we have and I’ll keep a little more than that)
- socks for a week (not sure what we have and need to purchase so that everyone has their own color / style)
- 5 pairs of pants / jeans
- 3 pairs of shorts (these will change to pants come fall)
- 3-4 jumpers / dresses for the girls
- 7-10 shirts
- 2 sweaters
- 2-3 dressy outfits for church
- 2 casual outfits for eating out or going to the city
- 1-2 winter coats (one for play, one for church)
- 2 outfits for grubby work
- 2-3 jackets (heavier sweaters)
Per child, this is going to add up fast!!
Striving to learn and live God's purposes,
