Summer Reading Challenge 2010 Final Post

I started with a much shorter list but I kept finding these great books I wanted to read right away.  There are a few that are on-going, learning books that I have to keep coming back to over the course of the  year or a few months.  Some books I have set aside indefinitely.  Others may be moved to my Fall Into Reading Challenge book list.  Some may wait until further into the winter.

I am very pleased with the amount of reading I got done this summer.  I probably could have done better, but I am reading a lot more than I was before I started joining these reading challenges.

My favorite books were the ones by Francine Rivers and Outcast by C L Talmadge.

My least favorite was The Magician’s Book by Laura Miller but that was only because my reading level is below her writing level.

The one I wished I would have gotten to this summer is Finding Purpose Beyond Our Pain.

Currently reading:

  • One Year to an Organized Financial Life by Regina Leeds and Russell Wild
  • Bringing Up Boys, by James Dobson
  • Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder (family read-aloud)
  • The Read-Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease

Started and set aside for now:

  • Fascinating Womanhood, by Helen Andelin
  • New Day, New You by Joyce Meyer
  • The Magician’s Book by Laura Miller

To be read:

  • Finding Purpose Beyond Our Pain, by Paul Meier and Davie L Henderson
  • Snow Valley Heroes, by Robert McCarty
  • Castle in the Mist by Robert McCarty
  • Managers of Their Chores by Steven and Teri Maxwell
  • 168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think by Laura Vanderkam
  • The Well-Trained Mind by Jessie Wise and Susan Wise Bauer

Completed:

  • The Preschooler’s Busy Book by Trish Kuffner
  • Little House in the Big Woods, by Laura Ingalls Wilder
  • The Big Breakfast Diet by Daniela Jakuboqicz
  • An Echo in the Darkness by Francine Rivers
  • The Birth Book by William and Martha Sears
  • Outcast, by CL Talmadge
  • Shadow by Ellen F. Feld
  • As Sure As The Dawn by Francine Rivers
