It’s Monday! What are you reading?

213 I’m reading!  I’m reading!  I went for about a week and read nothing for the most part.  I’m back at it again.

Finding Purpose Beyond Our Pain: Uncover the Hidden Potential in Life's Most Common Struggles is a tough read just because the authors get you digging into painful memories and emotions.  I am enjoying the book though.  I have chosen to read this one when I’m putting the baby down for a nap.  I grab that ten to twenty minutes to read a few pages a couple times throughout the day.

One Year to an Organized Financial Life: From Your Bills to Your Bank Account, Your Home to Your Retirement, the Week-by-Week Guide to Achieving Financial Peace of Mind is an ongoing project.  I think it has been on every “It’s Monday” post.  The year 2010 is almost over and so is the review of this book.  I have October’s chapters to review yet as well as November and December.  There is so much good information and hints and tips in this book!

Sabbath: Finding Rest, Renewal, and Delight in Our Busy Lives is a book I am reading as part of The Bloom Book Club.  I have been studying and reading about the Sabbath for a couple of months now.  I am slowly introducing times of Sabbath into our family life.  I am reaping the rewards already.  I enter the week feeling ready to face what is out there!  The first section is about the rest of Sabbath and gives specific suggestions about how to do so in today’s society.

On temporary hold (I’m reading them a little more slowly than when I started them) are Bringing Up Boys and Little House on the Prairie.  The Little House series is our read-aloud, however I’m not doing very well with reading aloud to the children.  It is so difficult to get everything done in a day.  The reading aloud is one thing that tends to get forgotten and pushed off for another time.

Striving to learn and live God's purposes,
