I have an opinion about the election.

I was speaking to a lady yesterday who said that she didn’t vote (and neither did her husband from what I understand).  I believe her reasons to be of a religious sort.

I was flabbergasted.  Really.

She told me that even though she didn’t vote, that she still prayed about the outcome of the election.

It doesn’t make sense to me.

You have the power to affect the outcome, in a direct and significant way, and yet, all she could do was pray.

Now, I don’t mean to downplay prayer, but prayers don’t count in votes.  Prayers don’t pick our leaders, not really; they don’t count in the tally.

Christians, we need to be active in politics.  We need to get out there and vote and support and build up leaders.  And, yes, we need to pray for the leaders that have been voted in by us.

Christians, you have a voice and that voice is your VOTE.  If every believer got out there and voted, we would have a powerful effect on our country.  Sitting back and doing nothing, or simply praying, is. not. enough.

Simply praying is not enough, in my opinion.

I am always thrilled to exercise my right to vote! I learn about the parties and the candidates, and then I VOTE!

I take my kids with me to learn the voting process, and then we discuss the why's and who's of the election/voting process. I want to train my kids to become actively involved in the electoral process.

Everyone has an opinion and I feel it is your duty to vote!

(Love your post!)
