White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

I try to make an extra special supper each Friday night; this often means that we eat a bit later on Friday night but every one seems to be okay with that around here.  This last week I made White Cheese Chicken Lasagna as our main course.  I added buns, a salad and made two desserts - store bought frozen apple pie (lol) and Dr. Oetkers' Chocolate Cake and Sauce.  (I figured since I worked so hard to make the main course, I could cheat on the desserts.)

Jason and I loved the lasagna!  I would say this was a very rich and creamy recipe.  Well worthy of the 5 star rating.

The kids said it had too much spinach in it.  I think though I can solve that problem (and another) by using a bigger pan.  And Cora, who isn't a milk lover, said she didn't feel really well after eating it.  The other problem was that there were too many ingredients.  I don't measure and I don't skimp on cheese.  Jason was "helping" (read: watching and directing) and kept telling me to pile things on.  I have a bigger pan - my roaster - so I think I will use that next time.

The desserts were flops all around apparently.  Jason said the pie was the worst apple pie he'd ever tasted!  Thankfully, I didn't make the pie.  lol.  And most of the kids didn't like the chocolate cake and sauce.  I, however, loved the cake.  I think I might go buy another, just for me.  I love finding desserts that the children don't like.

Anyway, all in all, a very wonderful meal.
