I do not remember the last movie I saw in theater. I believe the last time I went to a theater was before I was married. 3. Have you ever seen a ghost? Not that I know of. 4. Ever loved someone so much it made you cry? Yes, every one of my children. 5. What are you most afraid of? My husband’s death. 6. What do you do when you are bored? Sit at the computer and play games. I don’t have time to be bored though. 7. Other than the author of this mess of a meme, whose blog are you most curious to see their answers? What’s the next band you’re either planning to see or want to? I don’t care to go to see bands. I know I’m boring that way. 13. 1. What is the most common question that you are asked (in life) that is none of the questioner's business? When is your baby due? How much longer do you have? Are you going to have more after this one?
2. Who makes you happiest right now? Chocolate covered raisins! Anything cold – smoothies, ice cream, popsicles, slushies.
3. Would you consider yourself to be spoiled? Sometimes I do, but not really.
4. Do you want to be famous one day? No, I have no desire to be famous.
5. Could you handle being in the military? I could never handle being in the military. I have no desire to fight or serve. I have a different job to do here.
6. Do you believe in Karma? I don't know. Not really. Sometimes I like to hope that bad things will happen to others that have hurt me.
7. What’s the stupidest thing you ever did with your cell phone? I’ve never really done anything stupid with my cell phone. But I know people who have.
8. Who knows a secret or two about you? My husband.
9. Who is the most experimental person you know? I would say my husband is the most experimental person I know in regards to his food mixtures. He doesn’t do anything really weird but he does put a lot of different things into the same pot.
10. Last thing you did that ticked off your significant other? I think the last big fight we had was over housework piling up. I decided to leave the mess and let the kids leave the mess while we did something more fun – write pen pal letters.

1. The temperature in Mooseheadville, Canada was 34 below. Most of the U.S. is in a serious heat wave. In Connecticut, it was 92 degrees in the shade. What do YOU do to beat the heat? The temperatures listed in the question are in degrees F. You can find out where Moosehead Ville, NS, Canada is by clicking here. For my Canadian readers, the conversions (from the question) to degrees C are: 36.7 below and 33.3 degrees C. The reason I specify “in the question” is because the research I did about the weather for today in Moosehead Ville is very different. Today (Wednesday night) in Moosehead Ville the temperature was 72 degrees F which converts to 22 degrees C. And now for the second part of the question: To beat the heat, I stay in the shade and drink / eat as much cool food / beverage as I can – pop, water, iced tea, slushies, juice, smoothies, ice cream, watermelon. I also get in the pool or run through the children’s sprinkler.
2. What is your favorite summertime song? I would have to say that my favorite summertime song is Summertime Blues by Alan Jackson. When I was in high school, we used to listen to this song all the time; it quickly became a favorite of mine. I like Alan Jackson’s songs.
3. Besides nude beaches what's your favorite outdoor summer activity? Our favorite summer activity is having a campfire with friends. We stay out way too late (kids come too) and have way too much fun when we do. We haven’t had enough of these campfires this summer. I feel like summer is quickly slipping by!
4. I'm inviting everyone to a cook-out with Kimber and Berleen. What should I cook for you? I’d love a veggie kabob and some fruit salad.
5. When selecting your swimwear do you go for sexy or practical? I’m all for practical. I think swimming suits are immodest, so I go for as much material as I can without being weird! And usually I’ll have a cover over that.
6. Back in the day, did you ever have a summer fling? If yes, do tell. (Names not required.) A summer fling! Hmmm. I would have to say, not really. When I met Jason, I thought that he might just be a summer “fling”, and so I questions him on it to see how serious he really was about the relationship. Well, it turns out he was really serious; 10 years and 7 children later, we are still married and still loving’ life!!!
7. Do you know anyone who hates air conditioning? If yes, what is their reasoning? We don’t have air conditioning. Air conditioning conditions the body to a much cooler temperature so that when you do go outdoors your body (potentially) goes into shock from the drastic change. I don’t like being warm, but I don't like the drastic temperature change either.
8. When and with who was your last skinny dip? I have never skinny dipped.
9. How sick of LeBron James are you? Who is LeBron James????
10. When you were a kid, what was your best summer? Hmmm, I can’t say that I have a best summer memory. A lot of my summers run together because they were very much the same. Lots of camping. Lots of traveling. Lots of different homes. Not bad, just not memorable.
11. Belly up to the bar. We serve ANYTHING. It's 100 degrees. What should we pour for you? A tall glass of iced tea with lots and lots of ice!
12. Is there a favorite meal that you like to have in the summer? Anything served outdoors. As long as there are not many bugs and it’s not too hot or too windy, I love eating outside.
13. Do you think they will solve the oil spill in time for the Gulf states to enjoy summer? Nope, I don’t think that they will.

It became officially summer on Monday. What's your favorite part of winter? I think that my favorite part of winter is that it is different than summer. Living in northern Canada, the winter is VERY different than the summer. We get a lot of snow and a lot of cold temperatures. I do not necessarily like the cold temperatures and all the bundling up that we have to do, but I do like that it is different than summer.
2. What was your worst summer vacation ever? When I was around the age of 16 my parents grounded me for the WHOLE SUMMER! Everywhere I went I had to have one parent with me at all times. And I couldn’t do anything with the youth group unless they were chaperoning. Oh, and that was also the summer where we didn’t go on our yearly 4-6 week trip! We were all stuck together for the long summer months. I don’t remember much except that my parents didn’t have fun either and they said they’d never do something like that again. As far as I know, my brothers never got grounded like that. I guess that’s part of being the oldest, you are the guinea pig.
3. Kimber's husband just got the dream job that he's hoped for. So a big shout out to her and Anthony! Tell us about the best job that you ever had. Besides being a homeschool mom (which I do now and have always wanted to do), the best job I’ve ever had was as the children’s librarian at the public library in the community where we lived when I was in my teen years. I had that assistant librarian position for close to 5 years, I think. I loved it. I planned and executed summer reading programs; I got to play with toys and read children’s stories. I made crafts with kids and I got to work with great people! I still love to be in the library. There is just something about all those books and the knowledge that is encompassed there!

5. An alien appears and offers you the opportunity to repeat one year of your life. You will still know everything that you know now. He explains that no matter what you do differently, when you are returned to the present nothing will have changed. What year would you pick and why? Well, this is a tough one. Not to pick the year; that’s not tough. What’s tough is to believe that if I changed my actions, that I would not be changed. If I changed my actions that year, I would not have come into my marriage with the same guilt and issues as I had coming into my marriage. Knowing what I know now, I would not have made the decisions I made that year. So, if you mean, the situation will still be the same when I return to the present, I get that. I can work with still being married to J and still having the children that we have, but I can not for an instant believe that I would not be a different person (be it ever so slightly). The year is a combination of the end of 1999 to mid – 2000. I am in college and a relationship developed that should not have happened. I was young, naive and enamoured. I believe that other person used their position to cajole me into thinking everything was alright. If I were taking back to re-live that year, knowing what I know now, I would not be so gullible and impressionable. Even now looking back, I knew that all was not well and was in turmoil through the whole situation. Many people were hurt, me and the other individual included. That year (or rather part of a year) is one that I wish I could erase and change and live over.
6. Name three things you have on you at all times. Explain why. I am not a very consistent person, but if I need to leave the house three things that I try to have on my person at all times include: my cell phone, my debit card and a book to read. I carry my cell phone so that my husband can reach me at any point, especially if he is at home with the children. He is an on call fire fighter and would have to leave at a moments notice. If I leave without the children, I don’t go far unless we have backup child care. I carry my debit card so that I always have a way to pay for something. I don’t go out often though, nor do I need something often, but there have been times when out with the children that someone had a major blow out and I was without diapers and extra clothing. I was able to purchase the needed items because I had my debit card with me. Having a book to read with me is a new thing. I have come to realize that there are many times when I am waiting for an appointment or a child is sleeping and I’m stuck in the vehicle or something. I want to start using that time more wisely and for me more wisely is sneaking in reading time.
7. When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper and mailed it? I wrote a letter not all that long ago, actually. I would say in the last 2 months I have mailed at least one “snail mail” letter. I like to write letters and have been working at doing so more often. My children all have pen pals (well the oldest three) and we often will write letters together. That reminds me, K just got a letter in the mail that we need to respond to this week.
8. If you could have everyone in the blogosphere read just one of your posts, which post would you pick and why? I would want people to read this one about our son Harvey who lived for 14 days in 2004. I choose this one because in this post I share about the growth and the success we have had in our grieving process. I want others to know that there is hope after such a loss as we have experienced.
9. I recently read that the music industry continues to decline at an alarming rate. In the last year it said the sales of Michael Jackson's and The Beatles' music are the only artists who sales continue to climb. The article stated that the two are holding up the industry. Have you bought a CD or mp3 of either artist recently? I do not listen to Michael Jackson or The Beatles’ by choice. If it is playing or it comes on the radio, I don’t generally turn it off, but I don’t go searching to purchase their music.
10. What radio ad right now do you find so annoying that you'd rather have a tooth drilled than hear it again?There is no radio ad that bothers me right now but there are a couple of TV ads that do! One is for the show Obsessed! I hate it!
11. Berleen walks into a bar on a hot Minnesota day. At the bar sits a priest, a rabbi and a minister. A ten foot duck walks into the bar right after Berleen. What drink do you think Berleen orders? Water. But I don’t see the point of this question. And I’m not really going to run with it.
12. There is a knock on your door. It can be anyone in the world. Who would you want it to be? My husband. I always love it when he returns home from wherever he’s been.
13. What would be the worst entertainment or sporting that you could be forced to watch? I think I would have to say I would not enjoy watching a rock concert of any sort.
