MyMemories Review and Giveaway

 

Okay, it’s time to be honest… 

 

 

1.  I don’t like taking pictures.  When I do take them, I take them in spurts.  My children will NOT be able to rely on my picture collection for their memories!

2.  I don’t like scrapbooking.  I have tried in the past, when my oldest two girls were very young.  I have tried more recently than that too.  I do not have the patience for it.  A couple of years ago I discovered digital scrapbooking, but didn’t stick at it very long either.

 

 

So, I was hesitant to try MyMemories.  I started the four page album you see in this post in October 2011 and I’m just finishing it now and it’s January 2012.

 

 

MyMemories is so easy.  One of the reasons I like digital scrapbooking is because it’s not messy.  I don’t have the patience for messy at this stage of my life. 

 

But back to MyMemories…..The page layouts are there; the embellishments are also simple to use.  You just have to plunk in the pictures, create any extra word art you might want and save.

This is such a friendly site!  And as my size has increased with each baby, I find that getting clothes to fit my fuller figure is getting a little more difficult.  Wal-Mart has some stuff, but it’s not as classy as these items. 

 

Shipping within the US is very reasonable.  Shipping to non-continental US and internationally, is rather expensive, but they do ship.  (If I were to order, I would send to a friend or my brother and have them ship to me.)  Payment option is by credit card (the four major ones).

 

Take a look at some of these  - from the very extreme (in my opinion) to some nice and basic pieces, including some jewellery.  They even have handbags.

 

This is a shirt I could see myself wearing.  I really like it, even in this color.

 

 

I really like this necklace too.

It’s different but not too different.

 

I love this shirt except for ONE thing:

I don’t like that it is strapless.

I will not wear a strapless shirt; I would be SOOO uncomfortable!

 

 

 

This is one of the styles I was talking about when I said there were some very extreme items!  I wouldn’t be caught dead in this dress!  But it’s a great dress, I’m sure, for someone.  :)

 

 

I really like the above jeans!  They look comfy and stylish.

Our Dr. Oetker experience and a giveaway

Well, we have decided that we like Dr. Oetker!  Until December I had never really tried them; I never bought them from the store, so if they came to the house it was by another method (probably a gift).  I never took much notice.  However, I will be on the look out for good sales and coupons in the future!



My girls love to bake and create and serve our family.  The three oldest girls are 9, 8 and 5 years of age.  K (9) can follow almost any basic recipe with verbal directions and help.  She finds baking from a box really easy, too easy almost.  So these weren’t really a challenge for her.  However, she thought they were really cool.

Some of the things we tried were a pancake shaker, muffin shaker and a number of flavors of mousse.  Our #1, top of the list, super duper favorite was the Chocolate Mousse.  To. Die. For.  The other mousses were good but Dr. Oetker did something amazing with the chocolate one.  I liked the pancake shaker because even though there wasn’t quite enough to go around for a supper, the pancakes were a great afternoon snack for my kids that they could make themselves.



I love to foster independence in my kids and Dr. Oetker allows for that.  I guess the “slogan” in our house could be: “Dr. Oetker: The Do-It-Yourself Food”

WINNER - Cool Butterfly Print

Thanks to Deborah at Cool Butterfly Prints I hosted a giveaway here on Just Our Thoughts. Tonight before supper, my kids and I picked a winner. There were only 9 entrants and so I didn't use random or anything like that; I did it the old-fashioned way. I wrote each name on a slip of paper. (Now it gets a little different.) I held the 9 cards out to my five kids (one of the older ones picked for the baby) and they each took a card. I placed the other four cards aside. Next I had the four oldest each pick another card. The one left in my hand (which would have been Baby R's card) was the winner.
