Look What I Made!

 

So I’m sure most of you have heard of Pinterest.com.  Well, I found this on there.

I thought these would be so great for movie watching and such things.  Or for rest time mats.  And then I got thinking today that Matty needs a mattress in his bed.  I’ve been using comforters folded in quarters.  Well, I had these old pillows laying around and getting in the way. (Jason needs a new pillow about every 6 months.)  And I have tonnes of pillowcases.  Instead of just sending them on to the second hand store, I whipped out my sewing machine and made one.

First thing I turned the pillow cases inside out.  OOPS !!  After I had it all sewn, and I went to turn them the right way, I realized it was not going to work!  The second pillow case was INSIDE the first one!  UGH!  So my sweet man took the seam ripper and the cases and removed my stitching.

I then started over.  All three cases are now together ….

and pillows inserted …..

 

and it’s loved already!

 

So, I’ll be putting it in Matty’s bed for now.  And as I can, I’ll make more for movie nights!

Our Post-Baby Project

Excuse the clutter.

These curtains were sooooo easy. We bought 10 blankets at 10$ a piece. We bought dowels and hooks. We were hoping to not do any sewing but it turned out that the dowels were too big to fit in the seam that was already there. So J ripped and I re-stitched. I put in the dowels and he hung them over the windows.

There were a number of reasons for this project. Our windows are single pane, 1930s glass windows. Some have cracks. The heat loss in the winter is incredible! Secondly, there was no way to block the sun, so often we couldn't see the tv or computer screens. Or at nap time the sun was often shining right in the eyes of the little one trying to sleep. Both problems solved!!
