Animalogy: Animal Analogies by Marianne Berkes illustrated by Cathy Morrison. This is Sylvan Dell’s featured ebook for September. You can read, turn pages, listen to this book on their website.
About the book: Compare and contrast different animals through predictable, rhyming analogies. Find the similarities between even the most incompatible animals . . . bat is to flit as eagle is to soar; dog is to bark as lion is to roar. Comparisons include sounds, physical adaptations, behaviors, and animals classes and are so fun, readers learn without even realizing it! Animals are to nature, as Animalogy is to fun! (ages 3-8)
My review: So simple, yet teaches so much. Simple discussion of pictures and words open a world of discovery for my children. The illustrations are incredible. So much to see that you don’t catch it all the first time. Great attention to detail. Beautiful colors. Sylvan Dell offers many pages of free teaching content on their website that I plan to take advantage of in my homeschool. (PS. The website is really easy to use! Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book, in exchange for my honest review.
