Spring Reading Thing 2009

For directions on how to participate click on the button above or go here and here. This reading thing is hosted here at Callapidder Days. Here are the simple instructions (taken mostly from the Callapidder Days blog):

Here’s a brief recap of how to be a part of the Spring Reading Thing 2009:

  • Make a list of books you want to read (or finish reading) this spring. Your list can be as long or as short as you’d like. (Also, feel free to modify your list during the challenge if it’s not working for you.)
  • Write a blog post containing your list and submit it to Callapidder Days linked above.
  • Get reading! The challenge goes from today, March 20th, through June 20th.
  • Check out other participants’ lists and add to your own to-read-someday pile!
  • Write a post about your challenge experience in June, telling us all about whether you reached your goals and how the Spring Reading Thing went for you. Oh, and if you don’t finish your books, or if you change your list half-way through, or if you only read two books…it’s OKAY. This is a low-pressure challenge that should be fun. As long as you do some reading this spring (and enjoy it!), that’s good enough for me.

So without further ado, here is my list of books:

Ok, that's the list so far. If I can get these done in the next few weeks that'll be great.

Nick Cernis, of Put Things Off and author of the ebook - Todoodlist, challenges us to read a book a week and he tells us how to accomplish that some what lofty goal (lofty for this mom of five) in this post. He's a great read - funny with a large vocabulary!

As I read through this list, I will be posting some reviews at Simply Sensational Divas Review.

I'm just about finished The Innocent Man it's good! I like true life stories - this one is tragic. I also have Playing for Pizza and The Appeal that are waiting for me to read when I'm done with The Innocent Man. How are you doing with the blog party!

I haven't read any of them, so I'll be interested in your review of them!

Happy reading!

Thanks for stopping my place with Sunday greetings. I've come to wish the same to you. I can't believe you're renovating a church. Amazing! I'll have to check your blog for updates.
Cheers,

I'm currently reading "my horizontal life" by chelsea handler. It's not a book for everyone, but I have a quirky sense of humor and I like reading books in all genre. I just finished Ellen Degeneres "My point and I do have one" and although the stories are cute, It's a long book to not have a tighter central direction. The next book on the shelf is by a debut author (my favorite type of author) "Still Alice" a novel by Lisa Genova. It's rare I have that many books in my reading pile. It certainly takes the pressure off. Luckily I've found the best reading buddy with my same tastes in reading! That's the best!

Have fun blog hopping! Great to meet you.

Hi. Thank you for stopping by my blog on the UBP. I'm stopping by this post first. I am doing the reading thing as well. Your list looks great-as my kids are yelling at each other I am thinking that perhaps the sibling book you have listed would be a good idea:) The Shack is going on my list as well-I've heard it's really good.
Happy reading from a fellow Mom to 5!

Great idea!! I compiled one for the entire year, but it gets a wee daunting if I stare at it long enough!!

I have read The Innocent Man and I've started reading The Shack. Maybe I should join this spring reading challenge! I would have The Associate on there, The Killer's Tears (a book one of my students wants me to read), and several others.

I saw the book "Making Brothers and Sisters..." on another blog last year and it looked really good. I also like the sound of "Beautiful in God's Eyes"!

Blessings on your reading.

Your list looks great. Hope you enjoy the Elizabeth George book; I've read only one of hers but thought it was very good. I also really enjoyed Carla Emery's Encyclopedia of Country Living. Looks like we have some of the same taste in books ;) Happy reading!
