Updating My 101 List

What follows are the highlights of progress made on my 101 list. Check out this post for the whole list and more updates.

Start the kitchen renovation. (5) Well, although this is not started, nor completed, the thinking process has started. We’ve been debating and thinking about what to spend our income tax return on. I need to have some dental work done and I need new glasses. So that was our first thought. Now, though, the more we think about having a kitchen on the main floor, the more we are leaning toward that decision. And then there is always my student loans that need to be paid off. I guess there is always a place for the money to go.

Savings. (8-13) Due to DH’s job situation we’ve used up most (there’s less than 100$ there now) of our savings and we have been unable to add anything to that. L We are sad about that, but there is really nothing we can do at this point.

Walk three times a week. (14) Spring is here!! And we are getting out walking more often. I bet within a week or so we’ll be up to three times a week.

Write snail mail letters weekly. (22) I wouldn’t say that I’ve modified this one but rather as a step in the right direction I have started buying all the birthday and anniversary cards for the month at the beginning of the month. Then I send them all at once. So sometimes the birthdays at the beginning are a little late but the ones at the end are there in lots of time.

Read an adult book a week. (15) See this post to see what my reading list consists of for the spring. Also look at the bookshelf on my sidebar for other books I want to / plan to read. I will be adding things there (the bookshelf) as I find more I am interested in.

Get the wood furnace in working order by winter 2009. (37) We have had an initial inspection done on the installation of the furnace. There are a few things to be modified and completed, then a second or follow-up inspection. By next winter we should be able to use the furnace to supplement our natural gas unit.

Bible reading (40) I am sad to say that the progress I was making on this has come to a complete halt.

TV time (41) See above note. The same applies here.

Clean out front porch area. (81) We did this!!! We moved the fridge to clear an area for DH’s woodworking area. We are one step closer to getting that kitchen area in place!!!

Build or obtain shelving for the basement. (86) WOOHOO! I have started filling and organizing my shelving that has been built in the basement!!!
