I said here that I'd be posting recipes that I'd served my family before but in flipping through my one cookbook I found a couple that I want to try, so I'm going to list a couple of those as well. This is the first one:
Creamy Noodles
Cook your noodles. While cooking or immediately after do the following:
2 cups of milk
1/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp dill weed
1 tbsp butter
Gradually stir the milk into the flour until there are no lumps. Add the remaining ingredients. Heat and stir until boiling and thickened. Remove from heat and stir into the noodles. Makes about four cups.
I'd have to double it for my bunch!
This recipe is both make-ahead-able (is that a word?) and freezable. To make ahead, just store in the fridge over night. Place in a greased casserole dish and heat at 350F for about 30 minutes. To freeze just put in the freezer for up to two months; to serve, thaw and back as above. You may need to add 1 tbsp of water or milk to restore the creaminess.
Striving to learn and live God's purposes,
