Day one was kinda like Daddy was just at work for the day. Day two was a little tougher, but we had a routine going and I was focused. Today I decided to switch up the routine. I put chores in the morning and school in the afternoon. It. did. not. go. well. I don't think any schooly-school happened. I accomplished a few loads of laundry and a fire in the furnace. I accomplished feeding us all. We went out for the mail and dessert (afternoon coffee time). We came home to clean up the mess from the day, tidy up the kitchen and start supper.
My frustration was rising fast. I finally kicked the four youngest out of the kitchen. (I had brought them all there with me so that I could keep an eye on them.) I sent CJ to put on a video for them while K and I made supper. K made an awesome sweet and sour sauce while I did meatballs and rice. While it was cooking, I filled the dishwasher and swept the floor again. I released K. (heehee)
When I came upstairs to sit while the food finished cooking, I found forts being made in all areas of the house using way too many blankets. I was about to loose it. You know what though. I paused and I listened. They were all playing together. Nicely. No one was excluded. Those forts are still up; the kids are not.
Tomorrow they will play forts.
And all will be well.
Provided Momma puts the schedule back the way it's supposed to be.
School first, chores second.
Striving to learn and live God's purposes,
