I have had some pretty controversial posts in the past year. Not a lot but a few here and there. I think one of the most controversial were the ones on modesty. The topic I am writing about today could be considered controversial as well – bras: to wear or not to wear.
Why do you wear a bra? Because society tells you that you need to? How long have bras really been around? What did women do before bras or other such devices?
I don’t have all the answers but I have been doing a little bit of research on going bra-less (wearing less often) or bra-free versus wearing a bra all the time. Here are some of the sites I’ve read: (None of the sites listed here are pornographic, but are “breast friendly” – meaning nursing babies and such are shown)
- Breasts are natural. Bras are not.
- BraFree.org
- Going Braless
- Why Do Women Wear Bras? very very informative, with resources sited / linked
- The “Purpose” of the Bra very very long, but lots of good information
- Bra Burners Take Two I have done as this writer did. Turned in my normal bra for a sports bra for ease of nursing.
- goingbraless.net is the forum. I am doing some reading there and learning more tricks and tips and suggestions.
Am I going 100% brafree? I’m not going to tell, because that’s MY business and my decision (and Jason’s too, I guess). I wanted to share my research with my readers because I found the topic very interesting.
We are a society of followers. I like to be different. (Or, rather, I’m learning to like being different.)
Striving to learn and live God's purposes,

Another interesting post Ladonna! Hmmm.....I do wear one because I'm unconfortable without one and wearing one makes me feel and look more modest. (I'm small in the chest too).
If you see me at home, the local convenience store, or I am sick you are likely to see me without. If I am going out an about I actually prefer one because I feel more put together, and I actually don't want the girls saggin' down lol. Anyway the point is when I do or don't use a bra is for me, not for others.
